Mission: To maintain personal member contact to determine needs and expectations; to refer concerns to appropriate action committees; to enhance delivery of services to members; and to provide other services aimed at improving membership retention.

Assignments: Assist with grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremonies at member businesses; attend New Member Receptions, Business After Hours and other special Chamber events and programs; and survey members regularly through personal visits.

Meets Fourth Wednesday of every Month at 12:30 P.M.

Mission: To serve as a keystone for community improvement, particularly as it relates to appearance, through clean-up campaigns, awards and other programs.

Assignments: Coordinate Keep DeLand Beautiful Day; encourage cooperation in maintaining the appearance of the community; and recognize special efforts with monthly Beautification Awards and letters of commendation.

Meets Fourth Monday of every Month at 12:00 Noon.

Mission: To promote and influence excellence in education through volunteerism by the business community.

Assignments: Meets monthly during the school year at local public and private schools; coordinate $AW programs; sponsor annual ice cream party at Boston Avenue ESE School; and support the county school system.

Mission: To impel and prepare middle school students to earn a better living.

Assignments: Offer $AW I in every 8th grade classroom in DeLand and assist other communities in establishing the $uccess at Work program.

Annual Meeting: To plan and produce the annual meeting and installation banquet; to provide for the formal installation of officers, directors and committee leaders and to recognize retiring leaders.

Special Events: To develop and implement programs of interest to the community resulting in positive exposure for Chamber members through special events while raising funds for Chamber programs.

Assignments: Plan and coordinate the Chamber's Annual Meeting & Installation Banquet. A new task force should be named by July, 2004 to begin planning for the Year 2005 Annual Meeting.
Plan and coordinate special events for the Chamber.

Mission: To examine and influence the outcome of legislative issues at all levels of government to promote and protect the interests of the business community.

Assignments: Study state and local legislative issues to develop recommendations for Board consideration; meet with elected and appointed government officials; co-sponsor bi-annual Candidates Hob Nob; interview candidates for local, state and federal offices; and coordinate visits to Tallahassee.

Meets 2nd and 4th Thursdays of every Month at 12:00 noon.
